The contributions to the special issue develop a political science perspective on carbon markets scrutinising their history and highlighting the practices and technologies that have been used to bring these markets into being.
The articles cover such diverse issues as carbon as currency, commodifying forest carbon, the development of New Zealand’s ETS, the early history of emissions trading, the interplay between virtue and virtuality or the role of practitioners in shaping and creating carbon markets.
