India is said to be a rich country with many poor people. If we look at its socio-economic dimension, all its contradictions will become evident: a large proportion of its population continues to live in rural areas and relies  on climate-sensitive sectors such as agriculture, fisheries and forestry.   Due to its rapid economic growth, however, the demand for goods, services and energy is rapidly growing  and large shortfalls have  emerged…
