Energy efficiency improvement is one of climate policies to reduce carbon emissions. Most studies in the field focus on rebound effects of energy efficiency improvement on energy use. While it might be difficult to decouple energy use from economic growth, it may be relatively easier to decouple emissions from economic growth.
