As 2012 fast approaches a decision made by the European Emission’s Trading Scheme (ETS) in 2008 seems to be nearing: requiring participation in the ETS by foreign airlines flying into Europe. This requirement has recently started making headlines across the aviation industry and threatening a potential trade war between Latin America, North America, China and Europe.
