The development of technologies for production of shale gas has been seen as a revolution for the business and economics of natural gas. Many agents and the American government believe that the gas and the oil prices have structurally decoupled the United States, due to the shale gas revolution. According to this view, the low natural gas price reflects the new technological and geological context of the natural gas industry.
