By embracing ‘demand response’ – a term used to describe the willingness of end-users to vary their demand for electricity in response to changes in prices – countries can achieve a broad range of environmental and economic benefits, according to a new Information Paper released by the International Energy Agency. ‘Demand response’ takes several forms, and can involve a range of innovative products and services encouraging consumers to shift their usage from peak periods to other times in order to reduce pressure on prices and system resources on an electricity grid… (more on IEA website : http://www.iea.org/index_info.asp?ID=2138)
